What plane do you fly?
@@failed_physicist A320 family
Impressive demonstration of skill, technology and precision! Knowing the complexity of LVP, it’s fascinating to see how redundant systems and meticulous procedures ensure safety even at zero decision height. It’s truly humbling to think that only about 100 years ago, Lindbergh flew solo across the Atlantic - look how far we’ve come as a species!
@@TopoftheStackAirTrafficSafety Thanks for watching!
Very impressive. So the approach has to be continued even you get an engine fire. In that case would memory items apply in order to minimize demage? Or would you ignore and handle the situation once you're on ground?
@@layercake5864 Correct, in case of eng fire we would delay the memory items and shut down the engine after landing. Landing has priority in an emergency situation with fire so this has to be assured first and as fast as possible.
@@PilotWanderlust Thank you for your quick and informative response.
@@layercake5864 It is not a procedure to switch off packs if you keep the engine running on fire but in an emergency everything is allowed that makes sense…
@ You are welcome!
@@PilotWanderlust I think that's what you're Captain for. Using all your experience to feel if it makes sense to leave your procedures because situations might become too dynamic. However wehen I worked in aviation, I was impressed by the professional way Captains interact with their FOs and even with me.
More please 🙏

Hi ! Why going on manual thrust but still with AP1 (just before the GA) ?
I was about to disconnect AP for landing. Man thrust, man flight is my preference for landing. After I have selected man thrust I have listened to the conversation between tower controller and pilots of preceding A/C and decided to keep AP on for GA.

Reason for GA? Looked pretty stable
I'm not sure whether I heard correctly, the ATC audio isn't very clear, but I think the controller said "go around due to birds activity on the runway". I might be mistaken though.
